10 Things to do on your first day as a Grandparent |

 The waiting is over. You’ve had the call. You are now officially a Grandparent! Apart from constantly smiling, what else should you do? Here is our list of the top 10 things you should do on your first day as a Grandparent.

Telephone, text and e-mail everyone you know and let them know the wonderful news.

Make sure your camera batteries are fully charged for all the photos.

Order flowers, buy champagne and then pace the hospital corridor till visiting time.

Buy the biggest teddy in the toy shop.

Tell people you meet in the lift at the hospital that your son/daughter has had a baby.

Give your new grandchild a big hug and a kiss and promise to love them forever.

Offer to help out the new parents in any way you can.

Don’t make any comments or pull faces when they tell you the baby’s name.

Share your first photos with everyone who wants to see them (and those that don’t for that matter!).

Have a sit down and a rest, the next few days will be busy for you.
